About Fred Crosetto – Chief Energizing Officer

Fred Crosetto is the founder and chief energizing officer of AMMEX, a global distributor of disposable gloves and personal protective equipment. Crosetto started AMMEX in 1988 with a vision of the company becoming an international leader in health, hygiene, and safety.

“At the time, medical and dental professionals wanted protection from exposure to HIV,” he says. “There was also an increasing awareness of the need for hand protection in industrial applications.”

By satisfying this demand, AMMEX has grown consistently over three decades into a multinational corporation with extensive distribution networks across North America, China, and Asia. In the near future, AMMEX is poised to add Europe. Thousands of dealers distribute billions of AMMEX gloves annually.

AMMEX North America (www.ammex.com) has been recognized eight times by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in Washington state, as well as ranking among the publication’s Largest Privately Held Companies and Best Places to Work. AMMEX also has received national recognition as an INC500 Finalist and has been featured in INC Magazine, FORTUNE, USA Today, and other national and local publications for our outstanding business practices.

eCommerce is a centerpiece of AMMEX’s growth, driven by an expanded digital marketing framework that is positioned for even greater gains. AMMEX has and will continue investing in technology to better service our clients, and providing our partners with the training, content, and tools to be more successful in reaching the digital customer.

AMMEX China (www.ammex.com.cn) is seizing the opportunity in our fastest-growing market to build a distribution network across China that will meet the rapidly growing demand for disposable health, hygiene, and safety products. Our national sales network spans 24 provinces and municipalities. With the central government actively promoting worker, food, and health safety, demand is tremendous. AMMEX forecasts year-on-year growth of 70% to 100% through 2018 as we focus on our goal of being the No. 1 most-recognized brand in China.

“We’ve gone from three team members in one room to 110-plus in four offices: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu,” Crosetto says. “Of that 110-plus, more than 70 are sales professionals serving every province in China. This highly aligned, dedicated, ‘can do’ team is making the flywheel go faster!”

AMMEX China is also actively engaged in eCommerce, with an expanding presence on Alibaba (Tmall and Taobao), JD.com, Amazon China, and YHD. AMMEX’s Tmall site is No. 1 ranked, and sales across our e-commerce platforms are seeing exponential growth. We have a huge following on the cross-platform instant messaging service WeChat.

Looking ahead, AMMEX’s Top 5 Global Objectives for our 2020 Vision puts “culture and people” at the top.

“Our continued global expansion calls for more ‘A’ players around the globe doing awesome things to move us forward,” he says. “Our AMMEX 2020 plan emphasizes the importance of delivering strong brand promises, including growth, support, and speed.”

Crosetto and his wife, Norma, have six children and live most of the year in Shanghai, China. He serves on several nonprofit boards, is a former Entrepreneurs’ Organization international board member, and served in local and international roles in the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and YPO Gold.
