I’m Betsy, a Do-It-Yourself mom and co-owner of a family woodworking business. I like to say my children were born into wood dust but they made it gold. When I found out I was expecting my first child, Sarah, my husband and I had just quit our day jobs to take his home-shop business full time – I was terrified that our new family member would be born into a struggling household.

Entering a new market is probably the last thing anyone wants to hear, but I would argue it’s one of the best strategies if you are going in with a partner.
