Proactive Compliance Makes a Difference for AMMEX Customers

How compliance relates to disposable glove suppliers is largely not talked about until it’s a problem. But maybe your shipments don’t get released, or your manufacturer gets shut down, and suddenly it’s a hot topic.

At AMMEX, we talk about compliance all the time—because it’s important to us, and it should be to you. And by making it an essential pillar of our operation, we catch issues early in the supply chain and resolve them before they work their way to the end user.

While we can’t guarantee there will never be issues related to compliance—AMMEX does, after all, import thousands of containers each year—if a problem arises, we make sure that customers end up with compliant products.

In 2024, none of AMMEX’s shipments were held up. For disposable gloves in general, there are 601 cases of import refusals.

If a shipment is held up—and if you’ve ever dealt with such a situation, you know how expensive it can be—our numerous redundant sources would allow us to fill orders while the issue is worked out, which makes for swift and practical mitigation. Our clients who understand this appreciate that we take all the risk and simultaneously reduce theirs.

What does proactive compliance mean at AMMEX?

First and foremost, having no issues that encumber shipments. Yes, that is about as basic as one can get, but you give us your money to supply you with gloves, and that is a responsibility we do not take lightly.

We have policies that streamline the supply chain, dealing only with reputable manufacturers and inspecting 100% of shipments before they leave the factory. Are we perfect? No, but problems with supply are rare.

Our long-standing relationships with factories mean there are few surprises that disrupt the flow of product. We work with redundant sources to not be caught short-handed when one factory has a quality or compliance issue and needs time to make corrections.

Keeping us on the straight and narrow

AMMEX is a member of SEDEX, a corporation helping 74,000 global companies create more socially and environmentally sustainable businesses and supply chains. We require that our suppliers join SEDEX and operate ethically managed factories.

We rely on SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), the most widely used format for social audits in the world, which enables us to assess our suppliers and better understand working conditions in the companies that produce our gloves. These audits ensure that our supply chain partners comply with ethical sourcing and create compliant, high-quality products.

This emphasis on compliance underscores a commitment to safety, quality, and social responsibility. It ensures product reliability, environmental integrity, and ethical conduct, which benefits manufacturers, distributors, and users alike.

Happy Holidays to all. We’ll see you in January with a look ahead at 2025.
