100% In-Person Factory Inspections: Why Do We Do Them?

Most modern disposable glove factories produce a high percentage of products without defects. It could even be as high as 99 percent—but even a 1% failure rate is too much when you are sourcing thousands of containers a year.

That’s why AMMEX employs highly trained glove professionals to inspect 100% of orders at the factory level. It allows us to root out problems before they enter the supply chain.

We are the only private glove supplier committed to 100% inspections at the factory. If you do significant volume, you need to get ahead of the game.

Does that mean much to the average customer who’s buying gloves on the other end of said supply chain? What if it adds a few pennies to the cost of a box of gloves—is it really worth all the effort?

We think it is.

You want to wear a glove because you need barrier protection from something. Ideally you want a glove to last as long as possible and deliver grip or protection or whatever it is you’re looking to get out of that glove in terms of performance.

Those 100% in-person inspections can cure a lot of ills at the source. We also have people inspecting who focus on the product and understand the specifications required.

What does quality mean at AMMEX? Gloves are produced in large quantities with greater degrees of automation, which results in high quality. Factories have pinhole tests and other quality-assurance measures. So why do we take the extra steps of 100% inspections?

It allows us to be at the forefront of securing a high level of quality before gloves leave the factory. Because we source gloves in massive quantities, stopping even a few problems makes a difference we can pass on to our customers. If we didn’t do inspections, you could end up with more defects and a product that isn’t consistent.

From your previous experience you have the expectation that the glove you pull out in your fourth box and your tenth box and your 20th box should all perform the same.

You want consistency, which is what quality delivers. With regular inspections on all shipments, you can expect that your gloves deliver the same level of performance every time you put them on.

We hire only the best people

Our inspection crews are not only employees of AMMEX (rather than random, short-time hires) but they are also all local to Southeast Asia. They strike a balance between understanding and delivering on the AMMEX promise to deliver Quality and Compliance—but also are well-versed in the production processes of glove factories, which is loaded with nuance that comes from years of working in the industry.

It’s also worth noting that all inspections we do are recorded and audited, so there is traceability and transparency in what we do. We can provide documents, test reports, and statements that verify all our claims—and that matters to anybody who buys our products.

It’s important to remember that we don’t check every single glove; such an endeavor is the stuff of science fiction. But we do inspect multiple cases from every shipment, which is likely more than the average glove company.

With AMMEX, you’re going to get gloves that deliver consistent performance. Who doesn’t want that?
